The Power of Creativity

I work in advertising and marketing communications. I am what is known as "a creative" - the guy who designs the ads, creates logos, and does all kinds of "cool stuff' on his computer. I have been making a living doing it for over 25 years.

People are always saying things to me like... "I wish I could do that" or, "I can't draw a straight line" (neither can I - use a ruler). One my favorite sayings is "It must be fun to have a job like yours."

Newsflash: My job is like your job

My job is like any other job. It's hard work. It is challenging. There are good days and "not so good days." That's the reality of work and careers. Career satisfaction comes from the constant pursuit of professional excellence. Like any other endeavor done well, it is the result of a lifetime of study, making mistakes and learning from them, and practice, practice and more practice. Above all, it's about continuously reviving your passion for living and what you do for a living!

Using the power of Creativity

Recently I lost a significant revenue stream due to the corporate down-sizing and restructuring of a major client. I knew I needed to replace the lost income but could not act. I felt stuck; I was drifting and on the verge of panic. I did a "gut check" and accepted the fact - I needed help.

So I took action, I engaged the services of a life coach. Wow - what a wonderful support system! My coaching became the catalyst for my letting go and living fearlessly with confidence, purpose and resolve. My coach guided me to powerful new insights. I came to the profound realization that I could easily slip into being a creative resource and "problem solver" for my clients. But I was not applying that same creativity into my personal life.

Coaching is an art. It guides people to create the "masterpiece" they desire in life. The art of being creative in my job takes passion, imagination and letting go to provide the client with a "breathtaking" masterpiece or creative concept that will sell their product or promote their service. The art of coaching allowed me to unlock the hidden passion, creativity and potential in my personal life.

My life masterpiece is now filled with an abundance of vibrant colors. I have clear crisp visions and inspirations that have ignited my passion for life. Subsequently, my business is growing. My life has become more fulfilling. My world has opened up to a whole new set of possibilities. I am living and working creatively.

Coaching transformed my life. It keeps me focused and constant action. This article is evidence of that truth. Prior to working with my coach, I would have never considered putting my thoughts into words. I am exploring a new path through the power of creativity.
