Ok, if you are like me, I am not yet able to read a book a day. For me, finishing a book in a week is great. However, the point here isn't how long it takes you to read a book, the point is that you need to read something every day that is beneficial to your personal growth.
Now, if you are tired of hearing all of the reading hoopla from everyone and you think it's just a bunch of hype, you are not alone. You may be asking yourself how in the world reading a self-development education book going to help change the things in your life. Not only did I used to feel the same way but, just the other day I had someone tell me their own personal story.
They said that when they first heard all of these 'self help' people talking about the importance of reading books they thought it was just hype. As a matter of fact, they didn't even pick up a book for a few months because they just didn't believe it would help them. However, one day they rationalized it in their head and thought to themselves, 'How can I judge what they are saying is correct if I haven't even tried it myself?' So they picked up one of the recommended books and committed to read the whole thing. They told me that it only took the first few chapters of reading before they noticed how what they had read began to affect them in a positive way.
Of course, merely reading something doesn't mean anything. It's the application of what you read that brings changes to your life. So do what my friend did and just commit to find a good self-development book for the area in your life that you want to change, and read at least one page per day until you finish it. You will be amazed at what happens.
