The mind thinks in pictures, and we move toward what we picture in our minds, good or bad. I recently created a new product for golfers that's based on this fact. The product is called "Attracting One Putts: Hear It, See It, Make" but the reason for this article is to talk about the process of visualization which is so important in every area of our lives.
While I was creating the putting product, I found myself thinking a lot about the visualization process of making putts by incorporating the use of our senses, positive mental affirmations, and alpha state programming. By keeping an image in our minds of ourselves making putts, and keeping it there regularly, it assures us that making putts will become our reality. Our subconscious mind is that dependable.
Positive mental affirmations work in the same manner as creative visualization. The repeated words create mental images and scenes in the mind, and help to focus on the goal or belief we want to achieve or create, such as in the case of my new program, making putts.
Background sounds that are relaxing can also be important in visualization. I added background sounds and other affirmation commentary to the putting program to help golfers see, hear, and feel the putt going into the hole. The background sounds of the alpha state programming help alter your brainwave frequencies to enable you to enter into a state of relaxation, extreme focus and mental awareness. Alpha brain waves are associated with a relaxed and receptive mind and are present during visualization. The mind is made up of two parts, the conscious mind, the mind you think with, and the subconscious mind, the mind that executes a belief. Alpha waves provide the bridge between our conscious mind and our subconscious mind.
Lastly, the intensity of the emotions behind your thoughts absolutely affects the manifestation process. It is very important to use your senses (feelings) and put as much emotion as possible into your mental pictures. If you are a golfer, you know how good it feels when you see and hear a putt drop into the cup. Feel that feeling and appreciate that feeling!
Remember, the subconscious mind learns by repetition, not by logic, and it cannot distinguish between an event that is real and one that is imagined; therefore, if you need to do daily programming and believe this imagery process works. If you do, you'll can improve anything in your life that you want to including your putting!
