The Five Emotional States to Move Through on Your Way to Lasting Change

You are human. You want to change but have failed in the past. You want to change but only give it a half-minded, half-hearted attempt. You want to change but other things seem more important, so why even try?
You think you want to change, but you may be stuck in an emotional state that prevents it. Psychologists say that 90-95% are of human behavior is from the subconscious or non-conscious. I have heard we have over 600 words for emotions, yet most of us only experience the same dozen on a regular basis and half of those are negative---mad, sad, or bad!

Emotions are basically energy in motion or not in motion, as the case may be. The lower level emotions that you feel on a regular basis will make or break your change efforts. If you are angry, sad, depressed, resentful, unforgiving, frustrated, etc. on most days, it is hard to "feel good enough" and to gather the positive momentum to break your routinized habits of thinking, feeling, vibrating, and living.

How do you identify your limiting beliefs and stuck emotions?

By getting a new perspective! You can not learn unless you expose yourself to someone, some thing, or some new IDEA. Ideas are life-changing. When a new mind-blowing idea registers on your brain, and you start accepting it into your subconscious thought patterns, you start to dance differently, stepping up the pace, with more excitement and enthusiasm, because it's Truth. Think about what happened in your mind when you first learned of the idea of the Law of Attraction?! A light went off in your and you went, Aha! I've been creating this mess or success all along.

Change is inevitable, and it happens whether you choose it or it chooses you. When it happens to you in the form of a relationship break-up, job loss, financial or health crisis, it is much more challenging. So if you hold on when you need to let go, and continue to look behind you at the doors that have closed instead in front of you at the doors that have opened, you miss a growing opportunity.

In your mortal mind, you are actually seeing the YOU of yesterday and not the You of Today! To make change happen, you must learn to see yourself differently. When you see yourself as capable and willing to change, you can move through these five emotional states with ease and grace.

1. Certainty:
This state is associated with fear. (your ego is in charge). You think you have it all figured out, and resist rocking the boat, so you relax in the status quo of your life. Certainty is not a good sign because you get used to the way things are even if they are less than ideal.

2. Confusion:
This state is associated with doubt. You think something is missing, but are not sure what it is, so you begin looking everywhere but within to find the answers. Being confused is a good sign because you are ripe to make a breakthrough, once you start looking within.

3. Curiosity:
This state is associated with openness. You start asking new questions and start to see the patterns of your own behavior. You begin to see beneath so-called coincidences to listen to what the messages are in the "mess" or "success". Curiosity is a great sign because you are opening to what else is possible in your life, the more curious you are, the better.

4. Clarity:
This state is associated with light. You are receiving new answers and now see yourself and the situation in a new light. You have epiphanies literally lighting up your brain (left and right), activating "whole-brained" thinking. Clarity is wonderful because you are shining a light on your true thoughts and feelings.

5. Confidence:
This state is associated with faith. You are taking inspired actions, and now feel confident you are on the right path. You are committed to seeing where it leads, knowing you may change again when your soul calls for it. Confidence is divine because you are living life from your True Self.

When you reach this higher place of inner confidence, and commit to doing whatever it takes to make the change last, help from the heavens pour down all around you, guiding you to the next best step to take.
