Do you ever wonder why you struggle to attain many of the things you desire? I've found that one of the main adversaries to personal success is our negative thinking.
There's a good chance that if you haven't yet accomplished something you desire, it's simply because you've got some Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTs) running around in your subconscious mind.
These ANTs can and do undermine our efforts to get what we want. They are the enemy of all who seek to create and live a better life.
Here are four things you can do to begin exterminating your ANTs:
1) Develop Awareness
This is pretty obvious, but before you can get rid of your Automatic Negative Thoughts, you need to know what they are. Begin practicing the skill of watching your thoughts, so that you can see what negative messages you're giving yourself on a regular basis.
2) Evaluate the Thought
Once you become aware of an ANT it's time to evaluate it using your conscious mind. Ask yourself, "Is this thought helping me in any way? Does it point to something I need to change, or is it simply keeping me stuck in old patterns of thinking and behavior that no longer serve me?
3) Focus on What You Want
Your conscious mind can only hold one thought at a time, so after you've identified any ANT you should shift your thinking so that you focus on what you want, not what you don't want.
Learning to interrupt and eliminate any thoughts you have that focus on lack, worry, or limitation will dramatically improve the quality of your life, and help you attract whatever it is you desire!
4) Be Persistent
As with any skill, this will take time and practice to master! Be persistent and consistent.
I've found that if you work on this process every day, you'll eventually be able to guide and direct your thinking so that it continually supports you in the achievement of anything you desire.
