In this hurry and worry world the Holidays can add even more stress to our lives. There can be so much you feel obligated to do that you loose yourself and what is important about this time of year. Are you ready to explore some other ways to make your Holidays more enjoyable?
Here are five ways to create more joy and inner peace this season
1. Start with simplifying your plans and what you want to get done. The idea of getting stressed out over doing things misses the point of having a holiday. Instead make a personal commitment to slow down, relax and appreciate life.
2. Concentrate on the relationships that matter. Those you love and care about are who you spend time with and enjoy. Alter people patterns/rituals that don't work any more and do what feels joyous and uplifting.
3. Focus on giving from the heart. Give gifts out of love, gifts of sharing and caring. You can give of your time, share something you created, take others to events etc.
4. Take time in to be in silence; time when you sit or walk quietly to feel the joy and inner peace within you. Silence nurtures your spirit.
5. Feel gratitude for all you have. Each breath is a gift of living. Each day is rich in possibilities. Each friend an opportunity to love. Each moment has inspiration waiting to lift you higher.
A brief reminder: what you think about expands; you create your reality by the thoughts you have. Choose to be optimistic, hopeful and supportive in your thoughts of others and yourself.
