Dr. Joan Borysenko completed both her doctoral and postdoctoral work at the Harvard Medical School in cancer cell biology and behavioral medicine, returning to her career as an instructor in Medicine, a post she held until 1988. She is also a licensed clinical psychologist and cofounder and former director of the Mind/Body Clinic at the New England Deaconess Hospital on which her breakthrough best seller, "Minding the Body, Mending the Mind" is based.
